7 Unusual Destinations You Should Visit this New Year’s Eve

A few years back, if someone asked you about your New Year’s Eve plans, you would have been yelling, “PAAARTY!” But now, the only response you have is, “I just want to get out of the city and do something unusual!” We feel you, buddy! We, too, are tired of making plans, having plans, cancelling plans, and not having plans! While we make up a loooong list of things we want to do at the end of the year, here’s a short and (almost) entirely realistic list of offbeat places you could visit this New Year’s Eve!

  1. Araku Valley, Andhra Pradesh Coffee plantations, waterfalls, valleys, and the mountains! For trekkers and everybody else, Araku seems to be THE place to be this New Year’s Eve! When the clock strikes twelve, the only resolution you are going to be making is to live more such wonderful moments!
  2. Malana, Himachal Pradesh Located in Manali district, Malana is one of the most offbeat destinations you could visit in Himachal Pradesh. With a rich history surrounding it, this small village would be one of the best places to celebrate the end of the year! Also, we are not hinting at anything here, but it’s also famous for hash!
  3. Naukuchiatal Lake, Uttarakhand We have already packed half of our stuff after reading about this hill station! Forget spending New Year’s Eve, we wouldn’t mind spending all our days in this hill station!
  4. Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan For the more adventurous souls, a trip to Bhangarh Fort in Rajasthan will sound very tempting! Known as one of the most haunted places in the country, we guarantee you will have a *great* New Year’s Eve!
  5. Majuli, Assam If nothing else tempts you enough, how about visiting India’s largest river island? The scenic beauty and serene setting of this Brahmaputra river island will be loved by all those who like peace! This one is definitely on our bucket list!
  6. Rann of Kutch, Gujarat White sand, moonlit nights, and tons of folk culture to soak in! If you are into all of this, head on to the Rann of Kutch! This white desert also seems like the perfect setting for some profile picture-worthy photos!
  7. Ponmudi, Kerala Make New Year’s Eve the best night of the year! Celebrate it in a scenic yet not highly popular destination in Kerala! Start the New Year with close friends and good conversations in a magical location like Ponmudi!
