7 Book-Based Movies You Need to Watch in 2016

While we were making our movies-to-watch list for the year, we were delighted to see how many book-based movies were coming out! And we won’t exaggerate, we were squealing with excitement!

Book worms and movie buffs rejoice, because this year’s going to be one treat for you (and us)!

  1. Allegiant by Veronica Roth (March) Even though they are splitting the last book in two films, we are waiting to see what happens in Allegiant! We are just hoping for it to not end with a cliffhanger, even though we know it will!

  2. The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling (April) YAY! One of our favourite characters from childhood – Mowgli – is coming to the big screen this year! And looking at the brilliant trailer, we could not wish for April to come any sooner!

  3. Alice Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll (May) Nothing can get bigger than this one! Sequel to Alice in Wonderland, all of us are looking forward to see Lewis Carroll’s epic fantasy story come to life once again!

  4. The BFG by Roald Dahl (July) Basically, this summer is going to be a summer of movies based on some of our favourite childhood classics! Not that we are complaining, because Roald Dahl’s The BFG is releasing in JUST A FEW MONTHS! And with Steven Spielberg directed, this one’s bound to be awesome!

  5. The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins (October) Last year’s most talked about thriller is coming to the screen sooner than we’d expected and it sure is a delight for all of us! If you haven’t read the book, we suggest you do it RIGHT NOW!

  6. The Inferno by Dan Brown (October) We were on the edge of our seats while reading Dan Brown’s latest bestseller! And now we are all set to see Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon in this gripping story!

  7. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling (November) Saving the best for the last! 2016 is going to end on a good note because (OMG) Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is out this year! Expect a lot of magic!
