Well, how can one forget the fun that music brings in when it comes to this festival! We say, you guys need to set the mood with 10 of the peppiest Janmashtami songs that will give you the perfect Dahi Handi and Ashtami Scene afternoon!

Here we go..

  1. Govinda Aala Re from Bluff Master

Released in 1963, the first of its kind, this black and white song is literally the trendsetter for these kinds of songs.

  1. Govinda Re Gopala from Humaal De Dhamaal

This is the Marathi song we were talking about.Used in millions of revamp versions, this one is our all time favourite!

  1. Teen Batti Wala Govinda Aala from Muqabla

Sung by Kishore Kumar, this is one of the most popular songs for Dahi Handi! Shatrughan Sinha dancing around with deep expressions, what more do we want!

  1. Mach Gaya Shor from Khuddaar

Then hotties Amitabh Bachchan in a tapori look and Parveen Babi in the Marathi mulgi look, this song is unmatchable in terms of the casting and costumes!

  1. Shor Mach Gaya Shor from Badla

Shatrughan Sinha again, we absolutely love this song! The entry of the actors in the Mumbai-street style kind of dance..we say, take some dance inspiration guys!

  1. Chaandi Ki Daal from Hello Brother

Rani Mukherji and Salman Khan..one of the funniest movies of all time has some great choreography! Match your steps with them, c’mon!

  1. Har Taraf Hai Ye Shor from Vaastav

Song opening with the lyrics of Govinda Re Gopala with a twist, this song is not known to many..but we should thank Sanjay Dutt for the same because it is simply great!

  1. Govinda Govinda from Sarkar Raj

Not the conventional Dahi Handi song, but the picturisation of this one is unique. Even though it is played in the opening credits of the movie and does not show the handi being broken, it is equally peppy!

  1. Go Go Go Govinda from Oh My God

Best Janmashtami song for the millenials..The dance steps are next level, thanks to our ace choreographer Prabhudeva! Sonakshi Sinha matches steps too (just like her father, haha).

  1. Pintya from Shaitaan

Great picturisation, this one! A film which already has great music..Pintya really stands out. Not just from the list but also from the movie. The song is Marathi and is a protégé of Govinda Re Gopala itself; it possesses complete Dongri feels..Win-win?
